Hello, my friends I am trying to configure fastly to handle HLS streaming caching but I am facing difficulty what I did till now I created an account and the account asked me to enter domain and host so I entered the domain name which is hosted on ionos and in host filed I entered the IP address of my VPS but I am not sure if caching started or not and I am looking for an option to cache m3u8 for HLS streaming services can anyone help
Hey @islam – I’d recommend reaching out to Ionos for more information on how to change your domain’s DNS. That’s the missing piece you’d need to use Fastly.
Alternatively, you could change the domain you’re using within Ionos to something else, then put your user-facing domain on Fastly, and configure your CDN service to use your Ionos system as a backend.
yes @aspires But still I don’t get what he mean by domain and host in this page Screenshot by Lightshot** what is host if my domain is www.domain.com my host is my server ip for example
ok I setup DNS the site look faster but how I configure it for HLS streaming
I recommend contacting Ionos for guidance on updating your domain’s DNS settings—that’s the key step needed to integrate with Fastly.
Alternatively, you could assign a different domain within Ionos, then point your main, user-facing domain to Fastly. From there, you can set up Fastly to use your Ionos server as the backend.
