SSR vs. SPA for a new project?

Hi everyone, the debate over Server Side Rendering vs Single Page App architecture is lively, and will likely echo on into eternity.

BUT, I’m interested to know: if you were starting a new project today, what would you reach for to prototype and test concepts as quickly as possible:

  • I’d prototype with a Single Page App framework (React, Ember, etc.)
  • I’d prototype with a Server Side Rendering framework (Rails, Django, etc))
  • I’d start with something else entirely (tell us what you’d use!!)

I’d love to know more about why you prefer one or the other or if the this vs. that dichotomy is a sign of an inherently flawed mindset within humanity.
