I have a customer that has had a new internet connection. After being connected, they reported issues to a number of UK sites, but predominantly issues to www.gov.uk and Companies house.
The issue is that an initial browser connection returns the web site, but subsequent requests fail. and continue to fail, until the browser is closed and re-opened. I suspect this is when the site passes off to Fastly.
This is happening across many machines in the company, although with different, frequency.
All other non CDN web sites are fine, as is other internet services.
The network connection has been checked, and the ISP assures us that there is nothing wrong or being blocked.
On one machine that was affected I have installed a separate clean browser and the issue is exactly the same.
I have a dump from Fastly-debug, but being a client, not a customer prevents me from raising a ticket (I assume) ?
IPv6 has been disabled for ease of testing.
I suspect an IP blocking issue, or a network peering issue after the hand off, but I’ve not been able to prove this.
If you move any affected PC to a different internet connection, .gov.uk works fine.
Any suggestion on what could be the cause greatly appreciated as it has so far confounded a few network engineers.
Actually, you can create a ticket at the bottom of Fastly Support. Send over the debug results you have, as well as any additional traceroute/MTR outputs that show the issue.
