End CAPTCHA for end users with our latest Fastly Bot Management update

Hey Fastly Community!

We’re taking the next steps to dismantle the outdated CAPTCHA status quo! Our latest Fastly Bot Management update helps you:

  1. Detect elusive bots leveraging headless browsers with client-side detection (not to be confused with our latest product for Magecart protection and PCI compliance)
  2. Reduce Account Takeover with our Compromised Credential-checking
  3. End CAPTCHA while striking the perfect balance between frictionless user validation and security with Dynamic Challenges

This MAJOR update helps you detect more bots and respond dynamically in a way that only Fastly and one other vendor can do. Our Dynamic Challenges feature is built into our simple rule-builder and enables you to end CAPTCHA for your end users. When traffic matches the rule you set it to; Dynamic Challenges uses Apple’s Private Access Tokens to seamlessly validate a portion of your real users without the need for any challenge at all (a capability only one other vendor is authorized by Apple to do). All other traffic receives non-interactive challenges unless it’s found to be a suspected bot, in which case it’ll be upgraded to an interactive challenge (CAPTCHA).

In doing so, you no longer need to choose between enhanced security via CAPTCHA or enhanced end-user experience via non-interactive challenges; Fastly will strike the perfect balance for you.
