As part of our Beta program, you can use Image Optimizer (IO) directly inside your Compute apps written in Rust, JavaScript, or Go. IO still handles the heavy lifting for image optimization, but now you can orchestrate when and how they run as part of your application logic at the edge.

This means faster time to market, a better user experience with context-aware optimized images, and a simpler architecture. For example, you can serve different image quality or formats based on device or geolocation or run multi-step transforms based on business logic.

If you’re already an Image Optimizer customer, you can start using it with Compute today, just let us know and we’ll turn it on for you. We bill IO requests in aggregate, whether you are using IO with CDN or Compute services.
