Bot Management added to Configuration Manager

We’re extending Configuration Manager to bring Bot Management into the same unified view you already use for DDoS Protection and API Discovery. :rocket:

What’s new?

Bot Management now shows up directly in the Configuration Manager service list, with the same search, sort, and filter behavior: by service name/ID, enablement status, and unisearch metrics.

How it works

Bot Management uses two dependent toggles per service:

  • Primary toggle enables Fastly Bot Management (FBM) in VCL

  • Secondary toggle enables ContentGuard (CG) deployment (only available once the primary toggle is on)

That gives every service one of three states: Off, On — FBM only, or On — FBM & CG.

Metrics, before and after you enable

  • Not yet enabled: a preview metric showing the percentage of bot traffic detected on the service

  • Enabled (either On state): total bot request volume for your current configuration

Note: we’re still validating whether this metric will surface a separate figure for ContentGuard’s specific contribution, or reflect only what’s available for your current state — more to come here.

Who can use it

Bot Management requires an existing customer entitlement to enable in the Configuration Manager. If you don’t have one yet, reach out to your account team.
